Passengers are reminded to obtain precise details of their baggage allowances from their chosen airline or flight operator before they travel.
CABIN BAGGAGE
Weight allowances vary from airline to airline by as much as 3kgs/6.6 lbs to 18kgs/40 lbs per piece. Pay attention to this weight or your piece of cabin baggage will be treated as checked baggage. This may give rise to an excess charge if the total weight of your checked-in baggage now exceeds the Free Baggage Allowance.
CHECKED BAGGAGE:
Weight allowances vary from airline to airline by as much as 15kgs/33 lbs to 64kgs/140lbs in total. Many airlines will not accept any individual pieces that weigh more 32kgs/70 lbs requiring the piece be re-packed into lighter units or treated as cargo. This rule will come into force with effect from 1st June 2004.
